Pushing the boat out

Having an external person offering suggestions is really helping us get honest and clear about what we’re seeking from this trip.  Such as, we’re hoping for a taster trip of Europe but don’t want to spread ourselves too thin just to rack up the country total.  We’re after a blend of natural interweaved with cultural and built environment.  We want some degree of flexibility in the itinerary, keeping it simple rather than every detail planned.

At least, I think that’s what we’re after. All we’ve got to go off is past experience, yet this trip is all about seeing new places and trying new things.  I think we need to bring some awareness into this, add a few detours or out of the ordinary things that we wouldn’t normally see or do, because:

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”
